I may finally get to run BtSM for my group. So I am going over the article. Was there ever an established pantheon for the humans to worship? Just wondering?

Are you speaking of the minigame article, or just in general for SJ?

I couldnt find any information regarding this. But I would guess it doesnt really matter. You could take one of the prearranged pantheons of the Deities&Demigods...

Humans have never really had a defined pantheon in anything, I'd go with Grome's suggestion or just make your own.

I'm a big fan of the core D&D pantheon (Pelor, Vecna, et al.), and my players are well-familar with it, but island-dwelling humans might very well worship one of the elemental Greater Powers (Kossuth, Akadi, ect.) detailed in the Forgotten Realms.
Switching up names might also be cool, and add some flavor - 'Saint Cuthbert' becomes 'Papa Ayzidem, Spirit of Judgement' or 'The Storm-Prophet' without having to change his Domains or flavor one bit. Ancestor gods (former humans become deities) might be a a good place to start. |
